I finished a half marathon today and I KICKED IT’S ASS.
I was keeping a super steady pace of about 10:07 (which is fucking damn awesome for me) but around mile 9 my knee started to hurt in a way it’s never hurt before and then it was like HEY RUN UP THIS HILL OKAY but I finished THIRTEEN MINUTES faster than my goal time.
I will never run a half marathon again. But, now I can cross that off of my list.
I’m doing my first duathlon in August, though! How exciting.
I start my second part time job tomorrow!
Let’s hope I can walk better tomorrow than I can currently.
And now back to your regularly scheduled Tumblin’.
Today I rode in the Ride of Silence. We wore white (at least most of us did) and we did a silent ride in honor of those cyclists we’ve lost from automobiles. It was a really, nice simple ride to honor them and to come together as a community. There were all types of riders there - hardcore roadies in full kits, committed commuters, and those who just simply love to ride.
And of course my friends and I got yummy food after.
Today was a good day.
